Breathalyzer Keychains are a great thing to have for many reasons. If you’ve ever had trouble determining if someone is sober enough to drive you haven’t been able to do much about it other than guess in the past.

If you get pulled over you just have to hope your BAC isn’t over the limit. Overall, this is just a bad system. Why would you put yourself in this situation?

In the real world we all know that having a designated driver on every occasion is just not practical, but because of the laws we are governed under this would be the only sure way to stay out of trouble.

Without the right tools to determine what you need to know, it’s like having to drive without speedometers and just having to guess if you are going too fast.

This is where keychain breathalyzers come in, and more specifically keychain and portable breathalyzers.

Breathalyzer Keychains offer you the ability to check the blood alcohol content virtually anywhere you go. They are very compact and easy to carry around, and come at a pretty affordable price. You can carry them on a belt or keychain of your choice.

They will have a mouthpeice and an LED display. They work at the same level as standard breathalyzers but with the affordability and ease of being compact and easy to take with you on the go.

Some of the better keychain breathalyzers will offer advanced pressure monitors to ensude the highest of accuracy in the readings it takes.

Ultimately there is no price on your freedom and safety. The great thing about keychain breathalyzers is that you can easily take them with you everywhere you go, even if you aren’t planning on it, simply by having your keys with you.

It won’t be at the end of the night you thinking, oh I wish I would have brought my breathalyzer with me so I would know if I’m legal to drive, you will simply have them on your keys.

This is also a great reminder when you get your keys out of your pocket and get prepared to drive. The keychain breathalyzer can be a good reminder that maybe you should check your BAC first, and possibly just get a cab if there is any question.

Breath analyzing is the most popular form of testing for blood alcohol content in use today. Personal breathalyzers measure within a good estimate on what this level is by simply measuring the level of alcohol in one’s breath. You exhale into the device and it gives you an estimate reading.

In the past, when a drive was stopped for suspicion of DUI, the officer would preform a ’sobrity test’.

These would include having the drive perform functions such as walking in a straight line with one foot directly in front of the other, or placing their arms stretched out and then reaching in and touching the tips of their nose.

Unfortunately this is nothing more than a primitive way of detecting someone’s ability to drive. Essentiately these past tests would not be able to detect if someone was driving over the legal BAC limit.

If someone is more used to drinking, they would be able to handle more amount of alcohol and would be able to perform these functions with greater ease.

This is hardly fair to everyone. With the introduction of the breathalyzer these test are still performed but not as often, and not as the only source of detecting.

With the introduction of personal breathalyzers, the power to detect BAC levels is put into the persons hands and gives them a tool to better judge their BAC level.

This introduces a level of fairness considering your can be charged and arrested for drunk driving without knowing for sure, or having an easily accessible way of knowing if you are doing it or not, outside of guessing.

It’s very simple to pick up a small, compact keychain breathalyzer online and doing so can really save you a lot of hassle if you get caught with a BAC that is over the legal limit.

If you think of it on the same level as speedometers in our cars telling us how fast we are going, it makes sense that with that knowledge if we go over a certain speed we are capable of getting a speeding ticket because of the officers radar gun.

If we didn’t have speedometers in our car we would simply have to guess what speed and could very easily mistake it, and when we were pulled over and given a ticket it would hardly be fair since we had no way of even knowing we were breaking the law in the first place.

Personal breathalyzers are the same thing, only with detecting blood alcohol content, and not the speed of how fast we are driving.

There are a lot of myths floating around about how breathalyzers work, and what you can do to avoid getting busted when you choose to drink and drive. Here are some of the most popular ones.

1. Putting a penny in your mouth will lower the BAC levels that you blow. This is totally bogus and will do nothing but leave a bad taste in your mouth.

2. Using breath cleansers like gum, mints or breath sprays before you blow will lower the BAC you blow into the breathalyzer. While this may work to disguise the smell of the BAC to an officer, the breathlyzer will not be fooled. Gum, mints or any other breath cleanser is nice to have around but don’t count on it getting you out of trouble.

3. Using mouthwatch will confuse the breathalyzer test. Because mouthwash has a trace amount of alochol for the cleaning, not only is this myth not true, it’s the opposite. Using mouthwash before you blow can actually raise the BAC levels.

4. Breathalyzes are 100% or close to 100% accurate. This is sad, but not true. Breathalyzer tests are only an indication of BAC levels and are not completely accurate. This has lead to a lot of controversy over whether or not they should be allowed to depend on the BAC levels and have it hold up in a court of law.

If you have heard of any more intersting “facts” that you find hard to believe or are unsure about. Misinformation is very dangerous and we suggest that instead of spending your time trying to figure out how to fool the breathalyzer, you spend that time researching and finding out how to avoid driving after drinking instead. The safer the roads for everyone, the less accidents and the better everyone’s life will be. Remember that when you drink and drive, you are not only endangering yourself, but others as well.

The universally accepted fact, is that the actual readings from breathalyzers and the actual amount of BAC in the blood varies around 15%. This causes some problems when they are using these readings to convict people of serious crimes like drunk driving and driving under the influence (DUI). The problem is that about 1 in 4 of the tests that people are given are going to show higher levels than they actually have. A lot of people are arguing that until the breathalyzers can be proved to be more accurate.

The facts show, without doubt, that there will be many cases of those who show up as being over the legal limit, are not actually, and therefore will get false convictions. This system has been prove to be faulty and therefore there are many groups and individuals who are adamantly against the breathalyzer being used as a valid source of determination for drunk driving. With these kinds of facts going against the current breathalyzers being used to day, there is something not quite right with this situation.

Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty?

Because the laws in the U.S. are based on the assumption that we are innocent until proven guilty, when a judge determines that a citizen is guilty of a DWI, they are essentially breaking this rule of judgement when there is an abundant source of information backing up the fact that these certain individuals could be in the percentage that the BAC is showing amounts that are incorrect.

If we let systems like this stay in place, we are opening a doorway for other systems that are unreliable at the same level to be used for just as important life changing decisions and effects. It is very important that the systems we use for such important matters be at the best level possible. Anyone who has been charged with a DWI will testify that it has been one of, if not the most harmful event that has ever happened to them, and until a system is in place that gives near perfect accuracy, all of the decisions will be tainted until that point is reached.

The term breathalyzer comes from combining the words ‘breath’ and ‘analyzer’. It is a device used for estimating what the exact blood alchohol content by using a breath sample. Blood alchohol content, otherwise known as BAC is the concentration of alcohol in a person’s blood. BAC is usually used as a metric of intoxication for legal or medical purposes. It is measured in terms of mass per volume, but also in terms of mass per mass.

The actual term “Breathalyzer” is a name of series made by one specific company of the “breath testers”. The company Smith and Wesson was the first to coin the phrase. Since then, it has become a generalized term for any breath/alcohol measuring tool.

The method of using one is simple. You take a deep breath, then you exhale into the breathalyzer and it will automatically judge your BAC. It is primarily used by Police Officers to determine if someone is over the legal limit and is to be considered intoxicated.

There have been many controversies over breathalyzers and is one of the topics this website will be discussing.

One way to make sure you know what these readings will be before you venture out is simply to own your own keychain breathalyzer and see what it would read on other machines as well.
